The only difference between a madman and myself is that I am not mad.
- Salvador Dalí
I remember flipping through magazines when I was little, looking at all the glamorous fashion ads. Something compelled me to copy one of those faces in a photograph. That’s how I started to draw. I was fascinated with what was possible, simply by making lines on paper. When I drew, I thought of nothing else.
I’m changing direction, my process, my ideas - more often than not. (In fact, I may feel like writing something completely different here tomorrow.) Perhaps that’s to be expected as part of the journey. I’m still learning how to embrace and appreciate that journey. I turn to art as a release, a form of meditation and as means of finding those same feels I knew as a child.
